Round Table on Competition Issues in the Food Chain Industry - Note by Germany.
This contribution provides an overview of food price developments in Germany and a comment on relevant legislative activities at the level of the European Union (EU) concerning the so called Green Paper. This will be followed by a selection of recent enforcement activities by the Bundeskartellamt, showing areas of the food chain sector that are being or have been investigated and highlighting some of the competition issues relevant in these markets, including buyer power.
